Change is STRANGE

I love finding unique gift items for kids that nobody else has! I also love companies that understand that and try to create just that sort of stuff!

So, I found this line of books at Market and just fell in love!

The line is called Change is Strange and all the books focus on dealing with big changes happening in the lives of little ones.

With titles like "No More Pacifier", "Mommy and Daddy are Going on a Trip", "My First Day of School", "We're Having a Baby" and "We're Moving"...they cover almost every 'rite of passage' that a little one has to go through!

The books have bright colors and really vivid illustrations...I just know the kids will love them!

The company also makes 'survival kits' with the same titles. They contain the book along with some other "coping supplies".

I think these will make great gifts for the kids.

I really wish that I had known about these books when my Chalee had to give up her pacifier (she called it her tootoo)...I'm pretty sure the emotional scarring was deep. You read about it in this post...they told her that the dog had eaten it but I'm pretty sure she was convinced that Jordin Tootoo from the Predators had a little something to do with it! I could have read her the book and calmed her nerves maybe!

Bedazzled

We got in these cute new shirts that will make a great inexpensive gift for that special little girl in your life. This company uses nailheads for their embellishments...just another alternative to rinestones.
We especially love the 'big sister' shirt - a nice shirt for those older big sisters that feel too old for the Adorable Original ones. The horse ones are always nice too because all little girls love horses right now!

Not Just For the Mommies and Daddies...

We have a new line of new baby products for grandparents and older siblings...it's not always just about the mommies and daddies, you know. For now we have photo albums (brag books), frames, and scrap book type album/journals.

There are more and more young grandmothers out there so I like that this album isn't old fashioned or a baby-ish theme that is limited to just a baby...I think this album is kind of hip and I also think that it will grow with the baby - so the grandma can use this album to show off her grandkids' pictures way past their first year.

Same goes for this picture frame...it isn't limited to a certain theme or sex...and its very neutral which is always good to go with any home decor.

This is Chalee when she visited us the other day...This is her in the middle of explaining to me that I shouldn't just be taking pictures of things...."you're suppose to take pictures of people, Ashley," she said.

Then the second she realized that I was taking HER picture...she started posing...she really is related to me, huh?
So, to make her happy, I took her picture holding one of the things that I needed a picture of. It's appropriate considering she will be a big sister very soon! She's very excited about her new baby, though it makes her just a little nervous. I keep reminding her that this new baby won't replace her for me though...she'll always be my favorite!
