Go Pioneers!

Well...I'm seeing on Facebook and hearing from friends that the weekend in football wasn't so hot for many of the local favorites.
But Vandy won their game and...the Pioneers won their second game of the season on Friday night in White County! Yay! Go Pioneers!

Cancer Sucks!

The Impact of Childhood Cancer

  • Cancer is the #1 cause of death by disease in children.
  • One child out of five who is diagnosed with cancer dies.

  • Each school day, 46 young people - that's two classrooms worth of children - are diagnosed with cancer in the U.S.

  • The average age of a child diagnosed with cancer is six years old.

Father & Daughter Date Night

I stayed too busy serving the meal at Covenant Academy's Father Daughter Dance (Junior Auxiliary volunteered to help out with that part of the evening) to get very many pictures but I did manage to snap this one of miss Gracie before the dessert portion of the night.
She got the dress from the store and I just think she looks so beautiful in it....like Cinderella! Lucky for you, we have lots of similar dresses in stock for all the upcoming pageants...even Easter Sunday!
Come check them out while supplies last.

Handpainted monograms, peace sign & football pendants

Check out this new jewelry that I LOVE! Apparently everyone else does too because we've only had them for a few days and we've ran out of some letters...time for a reorder!
These peace sign charms are a little smaller than the monogram tile pendants...and so bright and fun!

And just in time for football season...orange, red, blue and the classic brown footballs! These look great with spacer beads in coordinating team colors.

Speaking of football... Everyone needs to come out to Nunley Stadium tonight for the WCHS Homecoming! Tailgating starts at 5pm and the game starts at 7pm. Come help cheer on our Pioneers as they face the Coffee County Red Raiders in the third game of the season!
GO PIONEERS!!

Father Daughter Date Night

Father-Daughter Date Night in McMinnville is FEBRUARY 7th and this year there are two father-daughter events on that night!
The 13th annual Father/Daughter Date Night that is put on every year by Grand Rental Station, McMinnville Parks and Recreation and other sponsors will be held at the McMinnville Civic Center. This is a classic McMinnville event that my dad use to take me to! Tickets usually sell out on the day that they go on sale but you can call McMinnville's Grand Rental Station to check or if you have any questions.
&
The very first Daughters of the King of Kings Princess Ball - A Night for Fathers and Daughters will be put on by Covenant Academy and will take place at the school. We have the tickets for this particular event at the shop and you can visit Covenant Academy's blog for more information. This is a fundraiser for Covenant Academy with all proceeds going to their wonderful school. I'm sure they're planning to make this an annual event so attendees this year are sure to get lots of treats!

Tickets for both are in limited quantities but with two events this year there shouldn't be as many disappointed daddies and daughters who missed out on tickets.
We have the dresses that all little girls want for this special event! Come in and check out our wide selection of semi-formal dresses in a variety of colors and fabrics. We also have the coats, wraps and capes to make sure that they're as toasty as can be on the way to and from the dinner and dance (although Daddy's suit coat is always an option too...and makes for just as cute pictures)!

Psssst! Mention this post for 30% off your dress purchase!

Tricks and Treats!

Well, I hope everyone had a happy, safe and candy-filled Halloween! We had so much fun seeing all of the "spooks" that came by the shop on Friday and we gave out a whole lot of candy, discounts and other goodies to our customers all weekend long!

Here's a really great picture of Dad, Mom and our good friend Audrey. Audrey came by to help us hand out candy because she loves kids so much and wanted to see a bunch of them for Halloween! ***I've finally figured out the way to make mom smile normal in pictures is to count to three but then to keep on counting until it gets awkward and funny and she starts laughing!***

Seth and I decided to be Indiana Jones and his girlfriend/sidekick Marion Ravenwood. My costume didn't make much sense without him standing beside me, but at least I was comfortable all day! He had a real bull-whip to carry around and I carried a not-so-real snake to pretend to scare him with all afternoon.

Two beautiful fairy princesses stopped by...

A funny court jester came by to make us giggle...

Here is Barbie (a.k.a my Chalee) striking a pose...

and here she is again with her 3-month-old baby brother, Joncollin the cow...

Miss Gracie the black cat came by to get some treats...

She brought along her super-special mommy and I couldn't resist taking a mommy/daughter shot. I loved Michelle's cute fall sweater!

Sharpay from High School Musical and a scarecrow came to see us...

Here is a close-up of one of our scarier trick-or-treaters...the "blood" dripped down and oozed all over the face....eeeewwww! It was kind of cool though!
Riley the Robot and Princess Ginger stopped to pose for a picture. That robot costume is one of those homemade costumes that I LOVE...way to go Riley!
Ashton is Sheila Young at Wallpaper for Less' grandson. He came by the shop early in his Halloween t-shirt with his trick-or-treat bucket in tow!
Little Miss Lola was boo-tiful in her Fall-colored bow from the shop!
Elmo a.k.a. Kora came to satisfy her sweet tooth with Hello Kitty candy!
Darla Roberts, from Tan 4 U, dressed up on Thursday night for a Kids of the Community event.

That's it...I'm already sooo ready for next year! Have you started thinking about your costume yet?

The Fair!

I didn't get to do a fair post last week...so here we go!

What true Warren Countian doesn't love the fair? I love this town and so, of course, I love the fair! It's like Warren County-concentrate...all of the people, businesses, community organizations, musicians...all of our eccentricities all packed into one fun, busy, junk food and whiplash-filled week!

Seth and I made a point of being there almost every night...we tried our best to eat there for every meal that we could...we even had some engagement pics taken while we were there one night (thanks Charlie!). Yup, we're fans of the fair!

The Food...

The Games...

The rides...

and the exotic animals...

and not-so-exotic animals...

The people...there were lots of familiar faces in the crowd!

Myca Jade
Morgan and (a very good-natured) grandpa!
Allison
Samantha
Mr. ZipAndrew Matthew
and, of course, my Chalee...looking very much like Bindi Irwin to me in this picture for some reason...LOL!

The competitions...

In the photography exhibit, two of our kids were featured in pictures. Here are pictures of the pictures of Cora and Chalee. Cora is even wearing an outfit that she got at the shop...I love this "cowgirl" top with matching hot pink skirt!

The pageants...

Congratulations to Little Fairest of the Fair Grace Rains and Fairest of the Fair Victoria Woods for winning their titles!

We had a bunch of outfits in the baby show. All of the kids in the baby show were cute, but we think our kids are the cutest! Maybe we're biased though?

Congratulations to all of the division winners at the baby show and to Eden and Jamison for winning the overall, sweepstakes awards in the baby show!

We had a great week...I hope everyone else did too! I can't wait till next year!
